HBDJ Terms and Conditions
This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for engaging Homebrewed DJs and applies to all bookings. By confirming a booking, you agree to these terms.
Booking and Payment Terms
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required upon receipt of the invoice to secure your booking.
Payment Schedule: The remaining balance is due as outlined in your invoice and must be paid in full on the day of your event.
Cancellations and Refunds
If your event is cancelled, your deposit will not be refunded. However, we are happy to reschedule your event to any other available date when we do not already have a booking.
Event Details and Timing
Performance Duration: Start and end times for our services must be agreed upon in advance. Additional charges will apply for any overtime or extended hours not previously arranged.
Setup and Pack Down: We require up to 1 hour for setup (including sound check) before our scheduled start time, and up to 1 hour after the event for pack down and gear removal.
DJ Equipment and Requirements
Power and Accessibility: Clients are responsible for providing a reliable power supply and an accessible location for loading and setup. If no power source is available at the venue, we can provide external power (e.g., generator) for an additional fee. This will be clearly outlined in your quote if required.
Equipment Damage: Clients are responsible for any damage to our equipment caused by guests, venue staff, or others at the event.
Sound Restrictions: We comply with all local council sound regulations and reserve the right to limit volume levels if required to meet these legal requirements.
Parking: The client is responsible for ensuring convenient parking or unloading access at the venue. Any parking fees incurred by Homebrewed DJs may be added to the final invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Travel and Accommodation Fees
If your event is located outside of our standard service area, additional charges may apply to cover travel costs. For remote locations or events that require an overnight stay, accommodation costs may also be added to your quote. These fees will be clearly outlined and agreed upon prior to confirming your booking.
Liability and Equipment Safety
Liability Waiver: Homebrewed DJs are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the use of our services or equipment.
Electrical Compliance: All our equipment is regularly tagged and tested to meet electrical safety standards. Clients are responsible for ensuring that guest conduct does not result in harm to our team or damage to our equipment.
Content and Music Selection
Song Requests: We are happy to take requests, subject to the event’s style and flow. Please note some requests may not be played if they are not appropriate or disrupt the overall vibe.
Explicit Content: We will tailor our sets to your event’s requirements. If explicit lyrics are not appropriate (e.g., at family-friendly events), please let us know in advance.
Force Majeure
In the rare event we are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, family emergency), we will do our best to find a replacement DJ. If we cannot find a suitable replacement, a full refund will be issued.
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, extreme weather, or government restrictions. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule or refund where possible.
Client Responsibilities
Environment: Clients must provide a safe and weather-protected area for setup and performance.
Guest Conduct: Guests must not interfere with the DJ or our equipment. If unreasonable behavior occurs that endangers us or our gear, we reserve the right to stop the performance without refund.
Photography and Social Media Consent
We may take photos or short videos during your event to use for promotional purposes on our social media platforms or website. This will always be done respectfully and will never focus on guests without permission. By booking our services, you consent to this use unless you notify us in writing beforehand.
Agreement Acknowledgement
By confirming your booking and paying the deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
