Sign-up for Open Decks @ Voodoo in 2025

Whether you're a seasoned DJ or just starting, this is your chance to showcase your skills on our professional Pioneer XDJ-XZ & XDJ-700 DJ decks.

Event Details:

• Location: Voodoo Lounge, Mt Maunganui 

• Equipment Provided: Pioneer XDJ-XZ & 1x XDJ-700 DJ Decks (Rekordbox and Serato compatible). Microphones will also be available.

• Time: 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM

•  Final Sunday of Every Month

Terms & Conditions:

Participation:

• Open to all DJs, regardless of experience level.

Time Slots:

• Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We will aim to release the lineup as early as possible so you have time to prepare.

• Set times will be 30 minutes. If there is an exceptional number of sign-ups, you may be given a time slot for another week, and we will contact you as soon as possible.

• Please arrive early for your set to ensure smooth transitions and continuous music.

• If participation is low, we may offer you the option to extend your set. However, you can choose to continue playing.

• The schedule is subject to change, and we will endeavour to keep everyone updated as soon as possible.

Equipment:

• Before you set your set, please ensure that you are familiar with the Pioneer XDJ-XZ DJ decks. You can bring your USB for standalone use or your laptop for Serato use. (Note: Unless you are in controller mode with a laptop, you will be using 2 channels).

• Bring your headphones.

• Be respectful of the equipment; if you carelessly damage any equipment, you will be liable for reparations.

• The volume will be set according to Venue and Council requirements—no adjusting the main volume. (As long as your tracks aren’t ripped from YouTube, you should be fine).

• Redlining is NOT headlining—Redlining the decks distorts the music and damages the speakers, so please keep it out of the red.

Behaviour:

• Conduct yourself respectfully and show respect to both the equipment and bar staff.

• Drinks and Decks Don’t Mix: No drinks are allowed near the equipment at any time. Damage could result in repair costs of up to $8500.

• If your conduct is unreasonable, we reserve the right to end your set early.
